Raag Khajana

Making the treasures of raag accessible for every generation.

Our Mission

With Raag Khajana, we aim to be the one place where anyone can discover raag. By designing for the technology-first world today, we hope to act as a gateway into raags and strengthen the Panth's connection to Bani and the Guru.

Our Story

We live in the most connected era… and somehow, we've never felt more disconnected. Disconnected from each other, from our roots and from the treasures left behind.

Raag kirtan is one of those treasures. Our gurus used raags to prescribe how Bani is meant to be sung, heard and felt. Raags are a way of connecting to the Shabad and to our Guru. But somewhere along the way, the chain to pass it down began fraying and that message began to get diluted.

Our Panth is scattered across continents. The teachers who carry this knowledge are growing fewer every year, with less knowledge being safely preserved from them.  And the existing resources are scattered too: a book you don't know where to find, an academy too far from home, a teacher you'd only find if someone happened to tell you about it. This doesn't work for the world we live in today.

We've faced this problem personally; trying to find resources but coming back confused and even more lost each time. We're building this because we need it… and 99 others need it too. *June 2026 survey of 107 people

Raag Khajana is built to be the one place that has it all. Whether you're hearing the word "raag" for the first time, curious about the history behind it, or already a student who wants a supplementary tool between lessons — it's all here.

We are not trying to replace the teacher-student relationship. That is a sacred tradition that no app could replace, nor do we want it to. We hope that through more people having the understanding and appreciation of raags, it will build spaces where students are seeking out more teachers, allowing the guru-shishya parampara (the teacher-student tradition) to flourish.

The real goal isn't an app or website. It's a generation from now with a deeper understanding of bani. It's an era where all gurdwaras have raag kirtan classes and regularly have raag kirtan playing in diwan. That's the chain we're trying to rebuild — one person, one raag, one shabad at a time.
